The Performance Review you never asked for (but desperately need)

If you worked for a director who refused you basic training, froze your budget for essential tools, and expected unpaid overtime every single weekend, you’d have walked out months ago.

But because you’re self-employed, you call it "hustling” and for some reason it’s okay.

The truth is, most of us have accidentally hired a toxic boss, and she’s the one staring back every time we look in the mirror. We’re so busy caring for our clients that we’ve completely neglected the business foundation that is supposed to support us, and it’s taking it’s toll.

People often talk about "building the plane while flying it," but let’s be real: most of us don’t even know we need a plane. We’re just on the ground, running as fast as we can, wondering why we’re exhausted.

The Passion Paradox

You’re brilliant at what you do. You have the passion, the certificates and the experience.. But no one ever taught you how to run a business efficiently. This is the Passion Paradox: your love for your work has become the very thing trapping you in a cycle of "manual faff", being the unpaid admin in your own business. .

When you add the reality of being a woman over 40, perhaps juggling caregiving, navigating menopause, and dealing with that nagging "Imposter Shadow", t’s no wonder the to-do list feels endless.

Why your "Internal Management" needs an overhaul:

  • The Price Prison: We price based on time, not the life-changing results we deliver. We’re also nervous to charge more in case clients stop booking. It’s time to stop operating on our feelings and start looking at the successes our clients acheive and charge accordingly.

  • The Confidence Gap: We know the value we deliver, but we struggle to articulate it in a powerful way - shying away from self promotion and the sales conversations that could win us more clients.

  • Just A Little Question: We go over and above for everyone else, and run out of time to work on ourselves and our business, stalling our growth.

  • Tech Anxiety: We don’t need to be a tech genius; we just need tools that buy your time back. Technology is the key to making the most of your time, but you need know what to buy and a safe, judgment-free space to learn how to use it.

  • The Investment Block: We hold back on spending money on vital tools or outsourcing help, in favour of doing things the hard way, draining our energy and reducing the time we can spend with clients.

  • The Isolation Factor: Loneliness is a hidden tax on your business. We weren't meant to make every single decision alone, but we are afraid of competition.

Let’s hand in your resignation.

On March 26th, we’re doing something different. We’re handing in your resignation, not from your business but from the way you’ve been running it.

I’m hosting a 90-minute workshop called "How to Fire Your Toxic Boss!" where we’ll walk through the critical thinking you need to kick start your business growth. You’ll begin to create the "Missing Manual" for the business owner you were always meant to be.

Start with your Performance Review

Before the workshop, I want you to take a 2-minute assessment. It’s a quick "Performance Review" to see exactly where your internal boss is holding you back, whether it’s through undercharging, manual faff, or just plain old burnout.

Or Join us on the 25th to finally give that “Toxic Boss” the Boot.

You’ve supported your clients beautifully. Now it’s time to build a business that finally supports you, too.
